Born in Nottingham, to second-generation Jamaican single-mother, Wreh-asha is a singer, song writer and actress. Wreh-asha trained in London and in 2010 Wreh-asha debuted in Disney's The Lion King in Londons West End, while writing and releasing soulful EP ‘Classic’. As an independent artist, Wreh-asha made an impact receiving BBC Radio airplay, as well as performances at noted festivals and venues including Glastonbury and The Jazz Cafe. Having co-produced single ‘Crash’ with Drew Horley (Estelle, Wu-Tang Clan) Wreh-asha co-directed the music video for it's release, she then featured in music industry documentary ‘God Save The Queen’, alongside Motown legend Martha Reeves (Nick Donnelly/Urban Kingdom).
Off stage Wreh-asha is an advocate for education and special needs. She has volunteered with Kids Company for their annual Christmas family day and frequently supports in the facilitation of drama, music and academia for children and young people with Special Needs. Previous theatre credits include: Shenzi and Sarabi understudy and ensemble performer in The Lion King (Disney/West End); Nina Simone in Nina and Shaz (Laura McCluskey); Gary Coleman understudy and ensemble in Avenue Q (UK tour); and Maddy in Booty Call (Segun Lee-French). TV and film credits include: The Alan Titchmarsh Show (ITV) and The Olivier Awards (ITV) with the cast of The Lion King.
Wreh-asha is currently starring as 'Mrs Corry' in award winning musical Mary Poppins (Disney/Cameron Mackintosh).
